The clients of the FANTASTICO supermarket chain have donated 170 476 BGN in support of children with disabilities, their parents and teachers
UNICEF extends its gratitude to the company's customers and employees for their dedication and support for the Education for Every Child campaign
16 October 2020, Sofia: 170 476 BGN were donated in support of the campaign "Education for every child" by the customers of all 43 supermarkets FANTASTICO in the period September 10 - October 14, 2020. A very important role in the great success of the campaign have more than 700 cashiers in supermarkets, who were ambassadors of the cause of UNICEF and FANTASTICO for more accessible and comprehensive education for children with special needs. Malina Tomova accepted a certificate of gratitude on their behalf - the cashier managed to inspire the biggest number of customers to help with a donation.
With the funds raised, UNICEF, together with the Ministry of Education and Science, will develop the country's first inclusive digital education platform which will provide adapted educational resources for the specific needs of every child and unite under one virtual roof specialists (resource teachers, psychologists, speech therapists), teachers, parents and children.
The development of the platform will be in several stages and is expected to be operational by the end of 2020. In the first 30 months, 3,300 children with disabilities, 500 specialists and at least 200 parents will be supported. The aim of the platform is to provide long-term and sustainable support that will eventually cover most children with disabilities in the country.
"We are happy that FANTASTICO, together with its customers and employees, is part of the family of corporate partners of UNICEF in Bulgaria. At UNICEF, we believe that every child should learn and develop their full potential. Thank you for being with us!”
said Dr. Jane Muita, UNICEF Representative in Bulgaria.
"We believe that through this campaign with UNICEF we will make education for children with special needs more accessible, and the work of the specialists will be even more effective. A big thank you to our colleagues in the supermarkets who conducted the campaign, as well as to our customers who recognized and supported this cause. We wish UNICEF success in creating the first inclusive digital educational platform and thank them for the opportunity to be part of this valuable project!”,
said Svetoslav Gavrilov, Executive Director of FANTASTICO.
