On December 14th, bTV will air a charitable three-hour edition of the programme “120 Minutes”, dedicated to the cause “For the Children of Bulgaria” in support of UNICEF. Host Svetoslav Ivanov will take viewers on an emotional journey through the stories of the most vulnerable children in the country, showing how joint efforts have changed their lives — from “Mogilino” to today.

The special edition will show not only the emotional moments, but also the daily work of thousands of people, state institutions, NGOs and UNICEF partners who have together transformed children’s lives and created new services for support, care and development. In the studio, Svetoslav Ivanov will join forces with Natalia Simeonova, Poli Genova, Desi Slava, Niki Kanchev, Iliyana Raeva, Elena Petrova, Veselin Marinov and many of the faces of bTV. He will also be supported by storyteller Kristina Gazieva and host and producer Aleksandra Krasteva. Guests in the studio and viewers will be able to participate through comments on social media and by answering questions asked live on air.

In this special edition, bTV viewers will learn what has happened to the children from “Mogilino” 20 years after the charity project “The Magnificent Six”. Among the stories featured will be that of a young girl who has managed to move forward thanks to “Zona ZaKrila” – a place providing protection and support for children who have experienced or witnessed violence, and for their parents. The team will also show how home-visiting nurses support pregnant women and mothers with young children; they will meet with Jenna – a child with Down Syndrome who is fulfilling her dream of starting school – and with Vladi, one of the first babies taken out of the home for medical and social care in Shumen when it closed 15 years ago.

“Our mission is to create meaningful content and be a trusted partner on key social issues. With this special edition of 120 Minutes in support of UNICEF Bulgaria, we are building on bTV's long-standing commitment to children - the most valuable part of our future. At this festive time of year, we invite viewers to join us for an evening of compassion and hope, sharing inspiring stories that have transformed the lives of thousands of children", said Ralf Bartoleit, CEO bTV Media Group.

“Nelson Mandela once said: ‘There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children.’ UNICEF’s mission here in Bulgaria and in more than 190 countries and territories around the world is to protect children and give them all the love, care and support we can offer as a society. This is possible thanks to the generosity and support of each and every one of our donors and partners. Thank you for carrying hope together for a better future for every child,” said Christina de Bruin, UNICEF Representative in Bulgaria.

The special edition “For the Children of Bulgaria” of “120 Minutes” in support of UNICEF will remind us that change is possible when society unites around the cause for children.
