About
Bulgaria[1] is piloting Phase III of the European Commission`s Preparatory Action for the Child Guarantee, implemented with UNICEF support. In Bulgaria, the pilot project is targeted at children with disabilities and developmental difficulties as well as at children living in precarious family situations, including Roma children from vulnerable communities. The main objective of the project is to expand the access to and improve the quality of 4 types of services - home visiting services for families with small children; early childhood intervention for children with disabilities and developmental difficulties; quality inclusive pre-school education, and child and family-centered preventive and support services with a focus on children in precarious family situation. The pilot activities will be implemented in 10 municipalities on the territory of three districts - Burgas, Sliven and Stara Zagora and will reach over 6,500 children and parents, and nearly 600 specialists from different sectors.
