Multidisciplinary models of care in Bulgaria: Strengthening services for child victims and survivors of sexual abuse and exploitation in the digital age
This report presents the findings of a national study commissioned by UNICEF on the Zona ZaKrila multidisciplinary service model in Bulgaria. It explores how coordinated collaboration between social services, justice institutions, healthcare providers and the education sector supports children who have experienced violence and their families. The publication highlights good practices, challenges and opportunities for further strengthening the model, including in response to the growing risks of child sexual abuse and exploitation in the digital environment. It also provides recommendations for the sustainable expansion and integration of multidisciplinary, child-centred services within Bulgaria’s national child protection system.
