On September 6, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Belarus with the support of MTS announced a sports and charitable project: “Move4Good: Recharge with UNICEF.” Within a month, anyone can register on the project website — www.move4good.by — and choose a sport and record her/his performance. Each registered will get access to useful sources on sports from the project experts. All funds raised will be used to support the development of inclusion in schools and to procure the necessary equipment for children with disabilities.

“Move4Good: Recharge with UNICEF” is an inclusive online project, which is an alternative to traditional races and marathons, and anyone can join it. Walking, jogging, swimming or exercising: the registered chooses the type of activity to recharge with UNICEF. The online format mitigates the risks associated with the pandemic, and it allows children and adults from different parts of Belarus to unite.

The project pursues two goals. The first goal is to promote sports and a healthy lifestyle. The second goal is to raise funds to support the development of inclusive education so that children with disabilities can learn and communicate with their peers, develop their potential, and acquire skills that will allow them to become more independent in adulthood.

To participate, you should register on the project website and make a donation. There are various participation packages: “Standard”, “Super+”, and “Partner”. You can register individually or as families or teams. The amount of a charitable contribution is BYN 25 per registration or more. Please find more details at www.move4good.by.

The project experts (psychologists, medical doctors, coaches) have prepared useful content for all Move4Good members: videos and materials with recommendations on sports and sports education for children.

The project will end with a “star recharge”, which will be attended by the participants of the Super+ subscription package, partner teams, experts, famous online bloggers, and opinion leaders. The event will take place offline.

Tanya Radochay, UNICEF Representative in Belarus, comments: “We would like as many people and companies as possible to join our initiative. The more participants we have, the more we can help. In Belarus, there are over 186,000 children with disabilities or special psychophysical development needs. Many of these children feel lonely, and one in ten is not enrolled in educational institutions. The reasons are both in physical barriers (only one school out of ten offers a barrier-free environment) and in the society's attitude towards children with disabilities. The pandemic has further expanded the social exclusion of vulnerable groups of children, but we believe that we — adults — can address any challenges together. Move4Good is a project about sports, energy, family, good deeds and help!”

In the future, it is planned to “recharge” annually, involving more and more participants, so that the project becomes nation-wide.

The project partner is MTS; this mobile operator has been cooperating with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) since 2018.
