MTS, Belagroprombank, United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Belarus and Belarusian Athletics Federation invite you to take part in the Family Race, which will be held on September 8, 2024 as part of the Minsk Semi-Marathon. Young athletes from 0 to 12 years old can overcome the distance of 1.5 kilometres along the ‘adult’ track. Participation in the sporting event is free!
To enter the Family Race track, you need to register on the website of the Minsk Semi-Marathon. Although children from 0 to 12 years old are invited to the track, boys and girls under 6 years old can only run with their parents. Each child will receive a champion's medal at the finish line.
The Family Race will be part of a charity initiative. During registration, parents of young athletes will be able to make a donation to support children with disabilities. With a contribution amount of 35 rubles and above, participants will receive a T-shirt with the symbols of the Race. The funds raised will be used to purchase special equipment (assistive technology) that helps children with disabilities in socialisation, adaptation and learning. So that every child can play and learn, socialise with peers and develop their potential.
In 2022, the support of the participants of the Family Race helped Ulyana with cerebral palsy to continue studying at school. In 2023, 59 students of the Kobrin Centre for Corrective and Developmental Education and Rehabilitation received assistive equipment thanks to the participation of people. And more recently, we transferred a set of equipment that was not enough for comprehensive support for children with autism spectrum disorder to the Children's Medical Rehabilitation Center "Praleska". "We were seen, heard and accepted", this is how parents of children with autism reacted to the help.
