Parenting can be hard, even for experts. Psychiatrist, UNICEF mental health expert, and busy mum Shermaine shares her best stress-busting tips.

Shermaine shares that, like many of us, she thought she had it all figured out until she became a parent.

The top things she has figured out are

  1. Basic needs are not optional. Food, sleep and exercise are essential for one's well-being
  2. Do what you need to recharge. Showing your children how this helps teaches them to take care of themselves too.
  3. Reach out for help. Talking to people, friends, relatives or other parents, can help you sort through thoughts and feelings.

Remember, taking care of yourself isn't selfish. It's a gift to everyone you love.
