Scam Alert – Fake Africa UNICEF Foundation or UNICEF Foundation

UNICEF is aware of fraudulent messages circulating on WhatsApp and social media, falsely claiming that individuals can receive cash rewards by clicking on links or paying processing fees. These scammers are operating under the fake name "Africa UNICEF Foundation" or "UNICEF Foundation" to deceive the public.

These claims are entirely false and have no affiliation with UNICEF.

What You Need to Know:

• UNICEF does not run cash promotions, giveaways, or lotteries.
• UNICEF will never request money in exchange for assistance.
• Scammers are using foreign or non-local numbers to deceive and defraud the public.

UNICEF’s Response

UNICEF Zambia, in collaboration with the UNICEF Regional Office, is actively working with relevant authorities to track, investigate, and report these fraudulent activities.

As these scams involve non-local numbers, the matter is being escalated for further action.

How to Protect Yourself from Scams:

• Ignore and block suspicious messages – Do not respond, engage, or share personal details.
• Do NOT click on unknown links – Scammers use fake links to steal information.
