Caracas, September 30, 2025. The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Venezuela and the LASER Foundation signed a cooperation agreement to join forces in initiatives in favor of Venezuelan children and adolescents, including the promotion of the rights of children and adolescents.

One of the main objectives of the alliance between the two organizations is to contribute to UNICEF's work in areas such as health, nutrition, education, protection, and water, sanitation, and hygiene, by providing logistical support with air transport to collaborate with UNICEF's programs in communities throughout the country.

Likewise, the joint work includes the dissemination and amplification of messages in favor of children's rights and the well-being of children and adolescents, and information on UNICEF's work, through the communication channels of FUNDALASER and LASER Airlines, to raise awareness of the importance of guaranteeing the comprehensive development of children and adolescents in the country.

The cooperation agreement was signed by Manuel Rodríguez Pumarol, the UNICEF representative in Venezuela, and Inocencio Álvarez, the president of the LASER Foundation and the Board of Directors of LASER Airlines.

During the signing ceremony, the executive president of FUNDALASER, Orlan Viloria, said that "for FUNDALASER, it is a source of satisfaction and pride to make this alliance with an institution of international prestige such as UNICEF, which carries out commendable work in favor of the rights of children and adolescents around the world. This approach, which is based on the preservation and care of children's rights, is directly linked to the mission of the LASER Foundation. In this sense, we are convinced that we have the willingness, mechanisms, and tools to provide air transport services, delivery of supplies, and to promote and preserve the rights of future generations."

For his part, the UNICEF representative, Manuel Rodríguez Pumarol, highlighted the importance of the alliance to support the work in favor of guaranteeing the rights of children and adolescents in the country. "This agreement responds to the call that UNICEF makes to all sectors of society to join efforts in favor of children. That is why we thank and salute FUNDALASER's commitment to support the logistics operations that allow our programs to materialize in the country, especially in the most remote and vulnerable communities. By joining our wills, we can move towards the goal that every child and adolescent in Venezuela, regardless of their origin or context, can grow and live fully," said Rodríguez Pumarol.

This cooperation agreement between UNICEF and FUNDALASER joins national and international efforts to achieve, with a focus on children, the Sustainable Development Goals, the global commitment to achieve more peaceful and prosperous societies by 2030.
