About the UNICEF 75 Virtual Race #EnMiMente
UNICEF Venezuela opened the inscriptions to participate in its first virtual race/walk to be held on December 10, 11, and 12. Under the slogan #EnMiMente, children and teenagers along with their families, but also adults, either amateur athletes or marathoners will walk and run to raise awareness about the importance of taking care of our mental health.
As the State of the World's Children 2021, published by UNICEF in October, the anxiety and depression rates represent half of the mental disorders among adolescents in Latin America and the Caribbean. Every day, more than 10 adolescents in the region lose their lives due to suicide, which is equivalent to almost 4,200 youth suicides per year.
To raise awareness of the situation, UNICEF invites this non-competitive race/walk, framed in the activities to celebrate the organization's 75th anniversary, in order to promote, protect and care for the mental health of children.
