UNICEF Uzbekistan is committed to ensure that every child in the country has an equitable chance in life through more effective and inclusive social policies. We support the efforts of the government of Uzbekistan to strengthen social protection in normal situations and in times of emergencies, to ensure that every child has a decent start in life, to reduce child poverty, to strengthen child-focused public financial management, and fostering child and youth friendly governance at the local levels.
Specifically, UNICEF Uzbekistan has been a major partner of the national government across various aspects of systemic reforms encompassing development and adoption of the social protection strategy, institutional consolidation, and digitalization the social protection system, advancing results-oriented budgeting and management to address challenges related to public finance management and evaluating both monetary and multidimensional aspects of child poverty.
