Socio-economic impact of the Ebola virus disease outbreak on household welfare
The case of Kassanda and Mubende Districts in Uganda
Highlights
The 2022 Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) outbreak in Uganda presented unprecedented risks to development. This rapid impact assessment of the major affected districts of Mubende and Kassanda examines the impact of the outbreak on specific social and economic indicators at the household level, the perceived risks and associated shocks and coping strategies. The findings of this assessment call for the actors’ response to ensure the stability of affected communities in the event of an outbreak in the future.
