COVID-19: Covered • Clean • Caring
Resource set for COVID-19 Risk Communication and Community Engagement in Schools and Orphan and Vulnerable Child Centres
COVID-19 is still a reality, and we all have a role to play to keep ourselves and others safe.
This interactive resource set for COVID-19 Risk Communication and Community Engagement in Schools and Orphan and Vulnerable Child Centres in South Africa provides informative, engaging approaches to promote good hygiene practices and help stop the spread of COVID-19.
It aims to help learners stay “Covered, Clean and Caring” to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The project was funded by USAID, led by UNICEF, designed by Jive Media Africa, and implemented by Partners in Development (PID). Support was provided by the National Department of Basic Education, Provincial Departments of Education, the National Department of Social Development, and the Mpumalanga Department of Social Development.
The project was implemented in 123 schools and OVC Centres across South Africa where USAID and UNICEF installed handwashing stations.
UNICEF’S Covered, Clean, and Caring COVID-19 Prevention Programme is a package of materials created to reach learners, teachers, caretakers, and the surrounding community. Four-fun filled activities were designed to encourage learners to explore how they can consistently practice good hygiene:
Staying Covered (mask-wearing) · Staying Clean (hand hygiene) · Staying Caring (social distancing) Creation of a COVID-19 song, dance, call, or creed
