Belgrade- 31 August 2022 - Deyana Kostadinova, UNICEF Representative in Serbia, met with Archbishop msgr. Stanislav Hocevar today.
They discussed their shared care for the most vulnerable members of society, especially children and children with disabilities. They agreed that there is a clear way forward in their integration in the community.
Child health was one of the many topics discussed at the meeting, including what needs to be done to achieve good outcomes for children, including their immunization. Having in mind the turbulent times in which children are growing up today, msgr. Hocevar and Ms. Kostadinova agreed that now, more than ever, it is important to raise children with patience, compassion, and empathy.
As religious leaders play a crucial role in supporting the values that shape how society views the fulfillment of child rights, msgr. Hocevar’s support to UNICEF’s goal to create a safe environment for children to grow up in is very important.
