In a modest house in the village of Baia, Tulcea, Cristiana watches her twin boys playing together. Laur and Andrei are five years old, but their emotional and cognitive development is more like that of two-year-olds. They were born prematurely, at six months, after a difficult pregnancy.

The first signs that the twins had a developmental problem appeared in kindergarten, when the teacher noticed that they did not speak and behaved differently from the other children. This was then confirmed by specialists.

Laur and Andrei need constant treatment and therapy. Currently, their mother travels regularly to Constanța for treatment adjustments. For now, they only attend kindergarten for two hours a day.

Although progress is slow, their mother is not giving up the fight. She wants her boys to be able to go to school and be understood, not judged.

Support came from social worker Camelia, who helped the family obtain disability certificates, school guidance documents, and personal assistant status. "The social worker is responsible for informing parents about their child's rights, especially children with disabilities," she explains.

For Laur and Andrei, every step forward means hours of therapy, days of patience, and a huge effort on the part of the family.
