BUCHAREST, May 28, 2026. To mark International Children’s Day on June 1, UNICEF, in partnership with the Romanian Senate and Chamber of Deputies, is organizing a series of educational and interactive activities for children and families.

The sixth edition of the “Children’s Senate” event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the courtyard of the Romanian Senate. Admission is free for all children and parents through entrances A1 and B3 (1–3 Calea 13 Septembrie). UNICEF is waiting for the children with many surprises, including mascots, face painting, photo booths, the Children’s Rights Wheel, the Children’s Rights Hopscotch, colorful bracelets, and educational materials.

UNICEF will also be present with activities and educational materials on children’s rights at the “Open Doors” event organized by the Chamber of Deputies, which takes place during the same hours, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with access via entrance C1, from “United Nations” Boulevard.

“I am happy to invite children and parents again this year to the Romanian Senate and the Chamber of Deputies to celebrate childhood together and learn about children’s rights in a fun way. We are delighted to continue this tradition and mark this important day alongside the Romanian Parliament, that is becoming increasingly child-friendly and attentive to children’s needs,” said Anna Riatti, UNICEF Representative in Romania.
