About
The report describes the perspectives of Romanian and Ukrainian parents on the mental health of adolescents and highlights their needs and recommendations for improving psychosocial support. Data was collected from 39 parents in Bucharest (including 19 Ukrainians) using the focus group method between November 2023 and February 2024.
Parents consider access to psychotherapists and psychiatrists for adolescents, support in schools through well-trained counselors and psycho-emotional programs, parental education, and the integration of Ukrainian refugees to be essential. Proposed solutions include expanding mental health services, extracurricular activities, teacher training, and a map of psychosocial services for quick access to support.
