About
This analysis provides an overview of public policies regulating interventions in the field of psycho-emotional and mental health for children and adolescents in Romania, highlights areas for improvement, and proposes a series of measures to amend the relevant legislative framework/public policies.
The analysis was justified by two findings. First, according to European and national statistics, in recent years children and young people have been affected by diverse and increasingly complex mental health problems, some of which have been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Secondly, in Romania, the subject of the psycho-emotional and mental health of children and adolescents does not seem to be regulated and defined in a coherent and distinct manner at the legislative or public policy level.
