About
Poland became one of the main host countries in the European Union following the full-scale war in Ukraine in February 2022. By the end of April 2026, it hosted 971,255 people under the EU Temporary Protection Directive, the second largest number in the EU after Germany, the overwhelming majority of them women and children.
This project is implemented with the support of the European Commission under the Technical Support Instrument (Regulation (EU) 2021/240) and is delivered in partnership with UNICEF in six municipalities: Bialystok and Lublin (Poland), Bucharest and Timișoara (Romania), and Bratislava and Nitra (Slovakia).
