Highlights
The World Health Organization and United Nations Children’s Fund (WHO/UNICEF) Joint Monitoring Programme (JMP) for Water Supply, Sanitation, and Hygiene produces internationally comparable estimates of progress on WASH and is responsible for global monitoring of the SDG targets related to WASH.
JMP just released the report presenting updated national, regional, and global estimates for WASH in households for the period 2000 to 2022.

Drinking water:
- only 39% of the total population using safely managed drinking water services,
- 44% using basic drinking water services,
- 11% using limited and un-improved services,
- 5% have no services.
Sanitation
- 66% of the total population using safely managed sanitation services,
- 4% using basic sanitation services,
- 25% using limited and un-improved services,
- 5% have no services.
Hygiene
- 86% of the total population using basic hygiene (hand washing) services,
- 14% using limited hygiene services.
Menstrual health
- 97% of woman and girls participates in activities during menstruation,
- 91% have access to menstrual materials, and
- 89% have access to a private place to wash and change of menstrual materials.
