Adelin Iepure, pupil with special educational needs
For me school is very important, here I learn, I make friends
Adelin Iepure is an 8-year-old boy who proves every day that disability is not a barrier. As a second grade pupil at a school in the city of Singerei, Adelin uses a wheelchair, but this does not stop him from learning, making friends and dreaming of becoming a teacher. He believes that at school everyone is equal and should respect each other.
"For me school is very important, here I learn, make friends, communicate with them, draw, read, write. My class master, Mrs. Liliana, teaches me to write, to solve exercises, to read, to solve problems. When I grow up, I want to become a teacher", confessed Adelin.
Adelin's class master believes that pupils with special educational needs or other special needs need more attention and care from teachers and classmates. This, however, does not limit them in developing their abilities, talents, desires, character and personality. The teacher urges all teachers to always be close to the children, to continuously guide and encourage them.
"In class Adelin is a very diligent and friendly pupil, all the children love and adore him. Since the first days of school we have explained to the children what Adelin is like and what they should pay attention to. Together we also did personal development lessons where we talked about children with disabilities. We are different, but we have the same rights", tells Mrs. Liliana.
The role of the teacher in school has always been not only to teach a subject, but also to create bridges of communication between children, parents and teachers.
The Ministry of Education and Research, the Republican Center for Psychopedagogical Assistance and UNICEF are running the national campaign "Learning Together", which aims to promote inclusive education and its importance for children with disabilities and special educational needs.
