Our partners

Our key partners are government ministries, departments and agencies, under the overall coordination of the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning. UNICEF also works closely with other United Nations agencies, international and national non-governmental organizations, community-based organizations- including religious and traditional councils, the private sector and media organizations in realizing the rights of all children of Liberia.

UNICEF has also harnessed global partnerships to leverage resources for children, working with the WASH Consortium, the GAVI Alliance, the Global Fund, the Global Programme for Education and the Scaling up Nutrition movement.

Major donors to UNICEF Liberia include the European Union, the World Bank, the Government of Japan, the Directorate General For International Cooperation Of The Netherlands, the UK Department for International Development, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, the United States Agency for International Development, private foundations and philanthropists. UNICEF also receives funding from National Committees in Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Norway, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and private donors the Findels.

With the aim of ensuring no child or mother dies of preventable causes, UNICEF is working to increase access to healthcare services for all. UNICEF supports efforts to prevent mother to child transmission of HIV, reduce child and maternal deaths, and prevent deaths from vaccine preventable diseases.
