Children and youth in Lebanon are facing a devastating reality no child should ever have to endure, as the country grapples with the aftermath of an escalation in hostilities, a prolonged economic downturn and deepening humanitarian needs.
Airstrikes, artillery shelling and demolitions have killed and maimed children and youth, destroyed homes, schools and health centres, exposed girls to increased gender-based violence and inflicted lasting psychological trauma. For many children, the places meant to protect them have become places of fear, violence, loss and destruction.
