The allowance is Lebanon’s first-ever social grant to provide direct income support to persons with disabilities living in the country. Full Press Release
The NDA will provide direct income support to persons with disability for the first time ever, and it will help them to face the extra costs associated with disability and to facilitate access to key services.
The National Disability Allowance is now available for all persons with disabilities. It will provide a monthly allowance of US$40 each for a period of 12 months to over 20,000 individuals through more than 1,300 OMT agents across the country.

“The new disability allowance is an important milestone in Lebanon’s expansion of its social protection benefits and moves the country a step closer towards achieving an equitable and rights-based social protection system”

“This is a pilot initiative. As we start its implementation, we look forward to working with all the partners to ensure its long-term sustainability”
The first roll-out will prioritize youth aged 18-28 (born between 1995-2005) to support their transition to higher education or the labour market.
