In a collaborative effort to support education recovery in flood-affected areas of Laos, UNICEF Laos, together with the support of UNICEF Australia through the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP), Norway and USAID has handed over learning kits to the Ministry of Education and Sports. These kits, designed for early childhood education and primary school children, will benefit over 1,600 children affected by Typhoon Yagi.

Containing vital educational resources to support teachers and students, the learning kits include backpacks, writing books, pencils, crayons, and other learning materials to help build resilient education systems while addressing the immediate needs of affected communities.

By providing these essential resources, UNICEF and its partners are assisting the Government of Lao PDR with its efforts to restore educational opportunities for children impacted by the floods. With these learning kits, students will be able to return to their studies with a sense of normalcy and stability to help them during these challenging times.

This collaboration also highlights a shared dedication in improving education and supporting the Ministry of Education and Sports to build a more resilient education system in Laos. Together, UNICEF and partners are ensuring that every child has access to quality education and the resources necessary for their growth and development.
