Behavioural Insights Study and Solution Evaluation Report
Highlights
This Report presents the findings of the first behavioural insights study on nutrition in Kyrgyzstan. The Study investigated enablers and barriers to child nutrition, primarily focusing on children under two years of age. The Report also informed the development of solutions which were subsequently evaluated.
The research was conducted by Empirica, an international research and consultancy company. Empirica specializes in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, offering expertise in data collection, analysis, and indicator development. Its areas of focus include education, child nutrition, child protection, migration, women’s empowerment, rehabilitation and reintegration, urban resilience, economic empowerment, gender-based and other forms of violence, and youth engagement.
The Report has two parts: Part I. Behavioural Insights Study Report and Part II. Solution Evaluation. Part I presents factors influencing malnutrition, including beliefs, perceptions, social norms, taboos, gender dynamics, intrahousehold relationships, market accessibility and seasonality. Part II presents the outcomes of the testing and evaluation of two solutions to promote dietary diversity among children aged 6–23 months.
