Highlights

This country evidence brief is a companion document to the birth registration evidence gap map for Nigeria. This map is a sub-set of a broader evidence map of all birth registration evidence for the continent of Africa.

The Known from Birth project aims to provide relevant data and evidence required by decision-makers in low- and middle-income countries in order to strengthen birth registration and protect children from child labour. The project focuses on three countries: Mozambique, Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire. Together with South Africa Centre for Evidence (SACE), UNICEF Innocenti curated a range of evidence bases relevant for birth registration decision-makers in all three countries.
