EdTech in emergencies
Project | Exploring innovative solutions to maintain and enhance education
Emergencies like natural disasters, conflicts and pandemics disrupt traditional education systems and leave millions of children without access to learning opportunities. EdTech offers innovative solutions to maintain and enhance education in these challenging environments, but effective implementation requires thorough research to address unique contextual challenges.
Our project focuses on understanding how EdTech can be most effectively deployed in these emergency settings. This involves examining factors like connectivity issues, availability of resources, user training and the cultural appropriateness of digital content. We aim to identify the most effective strategies for integrating EdTech into disrupted educational landscapes to ensure continuity and quality of learning.
By collaborating with humanitarian organizations, local educators, and affected communities, we research tailored EdTech interventions to support children in emergency situations. These include adaptable digital platforms, offline learning resources, and comprehensive support systems for educators and learners. The research works to understand the feasibility, scalability and impact of these interventions, providing real-time feedback for continuous improvement.
