Care and affection are essential for children to grow up healthy, safe and protected. From pregnancy and throughout the early years of life, every gesture of love, attention and support contributes to their overall well-being.

The campaign “Care and Affection for My Child’s Well-being” brings together a series of videos with simple and practical messages to support mothers, fathers, caregivers and families in key actions for children’s development.

Caring with affection means being present, providing love, guiding with respect, looking after their health, stimulating their development, supporting their learning and offering opportunities to grow in a safe and protective environment.

Below, you can watch the videos from the campaign:

Care and affection mean educating with positive parenting

The upbringing of children and adolescents should be based on reason, sensitivity, love, equality, tolerance and respect.

Raising children with respect means educating them with love and positive treatment. It means listening, accompanying, guiding and setting limits without violence, while strengthening safe and loving bonds that contribute to every child’s well-being.

Care and affection mean stimulating their development from the early years

The first years of life are a key stage for children’s development. Carrying out early stimulation exercises with affection, patience and consistency helps strengthen their abilities, confidence and bond with those who care for them.

Through play, words, movement and expressions of affection, families can accompany children’s growth and contribute to their well-being from the very beginning.

Care and affection mean recognizing that breast milk is the best food for my baby

Breast milk is the best food for a baby. It provides the nutrients babies need to grow healthy and strong, and supports their development from the first months of life.

Breastfeeding is also an opportunity to create bonds of love, security and closeness between mother and baby. Supporting this stage with care, affection and appropriate information contributes to children’s well-being.

Care and affection begin during pregnancy with prenatal care

Care and affection also mean attending prenatal medical appointments.

During pregnancy, prenatal check-ups help protect the health of both mother and baby, monitor the baby’s development and provide important guidance for this stage.

Attending every appointment is a way to protect, love and prepare for the baby’s well-being even before birth.

Care and affection mean enrolling them in kindergarten when they turn 4

Early education is a key stage for children to learn, play, interact with others and develop skills that will support their growth.

Enrolling a child in kindergarten when they turn 4 is a way to care for their present and open up more opportunities for their future. In the classroom, children strengthen their learning, autonomy, socialization and well-being.

Caring with affection means accompanying every stage of their lives

Children’s well-being is built every day through simple but fundamental actions: attending prenatal check-ups, providing breast milk, stimulating their development, educating with positive parenting and ensuring access to early education.

Each of these actions reflects love, commitment and protection. Because when children receive care and affection, they have more opportunities to grow, learn and develop to their full potential.

Caring with affection means protecting their present and accompanying their future.
