Highlights
In 2025, the realisation of child rights in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) was profoundly disturbed by the convergence of escalating armed conflicts, and recurrent public health emergencies, with their consequences in deepening socioeconomic fragility.
Together, these shocks significantly reversed development gains, undermined progress towards the outcomes of DRC-UNICEF Cooperation programme, and constrained national advancement towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with increased risks of leaving the most vulnerable children further behind.
