'How are you really? Tell Me’

UNICEF, in partnership with ‘Tell Me’ app, launched the first online platform for self-help and mental health of teenagers and young people

‘How are you really? Tell me’

The specially designed ‘UNICEF Room’ within the ‘Tell Me’ mobile application helps young people build psychological resilience and overcome the negative emotions they go through, such as anxiety, loneliness, sadness, fear, and angerAccess to the platform is easy and free of charge for all young people up to 24 years of age and their parents.

UNICEF data shows that 1 in 5 deaths among 15 to 19-year-olds in the EU is caused by intentional self-harm and suicide is the second most prevalent cause of death for adolescents of the same age in Europe.

50% of all mental health disorders start by age 14, and 75% - by age 24.

The ‘How are you really? Tell me’ campaign is the result of the already conducted national campaign of UNICEF Bulgaria ‘Beyond the smiles. How are you really?’, which aimed to support the mental health of young people in Bulgaria.

The purpose of the virtual ‘UNICEF Room’ is to help young people develop psychological resilience, build skills to deal with adverse events, and to better understand themselves and what they want. The platform's information portal is also extremely useful for parents of teenagers who want to learn how to support emotionally their child. The focus is on the prevention phase – what any young person or parent can do on their own to strengthen their mental health and thus be able to help others as well.

After downloading the app and entering the UNICEF Room, you can explore a self-support space with various exercises and programs that are performed independently and help young people to better understand their inner world.
