Highlights
Child protection in humanitarian situations includes specific activities by child protection actors, whether national or community and/or humanitarian personnel who support local capacities. It also includes activities in other sectors of humanitarian aid that can improve the safety of children and adolescents, even if it is not one of their specific objectives.
This document tries to expose the principles established by the Convention on the Rights of the Child; Standards to address child protection needs, standards to develop appropriate strategies for the protection of children, and to integrate child protection at work in other humanitarian sectors.
