Caracas.- June 29, 2020.- As part of its Response Plan to COVID-19 in Venezuela, UNICEF and Impact Hub Caracas come together to carry out the Escalando Impacto 2020 Program, which aims to identify and select innovative solutions that help mitigate the consequences of the coronavirus in the country and that are framed in four specific categories:

  • Distance education for children in rural communities without connectivity.
  • Remote monitoring of the reception/use of health, education, and hygiene supplies in hospitals and other health centers.
  • Community communication for behavior change and adoption of prevention and hygiene measures.
  • Design and local production of health supplies, hygiene, and medical equipment to face the COVID-19 pandemic.

For two weeks, Escalando Impacto 2020 will help teams to fine-tune and enhance their minimum viable product through an intensive virtual development program that will allow the solutions to be adapted to the selected pilots.

The program has six learning modules under the modality of webinars (Adaptation of the business model for pilot execution, application of pilot execution strategies, adaptation of the financial model for pilots and future growth, marketing campaign and alliances, short presentation and communication, and execution of the pilot plan), personalized mentoring and contact networks that make it easier for them to take their project on a larger scale.

Once the development stage with the learning webinars is finished, the teams will have the possibility of executing for two more weeks, the pilot plan they designed in locations previously selected by UNICEF, accompanied by their respective mentors, and under the coordination and monitoring of Impact Hub Caracas.

UNICEF and Impact Hub Caracas invite all entrepreneurs with social impact who are working with initiatives to counteract the consequences of COVID-19 to take this opportunity to scale up their project and amplify its impact, applying through the web: Caracas.impacthub.net and filling out the form found there before July 10, 2020. The program starts on July 20.
