UNICEF delivered the first batch of oxygen equipment to improve medical services for 150 thousand mothers and children in Qashqadaryo Region
In May of this year, UNICEF delivered the first batch of oxygen equipment to the Regional Children’s Hospital and Regional Perinatal Center in the Qashqadaryo Region. This life-saving equipment was eagerly awaited to further improve health services for more than one hundred and fifty thousand children and mothers in the region.
Using new equipment, medical workers will be able to carry out emergency interventions to save the lives of newborns and mothers in critical conditions.
UNICEF continues to provide technical assistance to improve access to life-saving health care during and after childbirth. This in turn helps improve newborn survival rates.
The supply of oxygen devices was made possible thanks to the UNICEF’s Access to COVID-19 Tools Accelerator Supplies Financing Facility.
