UNICEF and CROWNE Plaza present first Gala Dinner with auction in Dushanbe to raise funds for Early Childhood Intervention Centers

Dushanbe, 17 April 2026 – UNICEF in Tajikistan and CROWNE Plaza Hotel by IHG hosted a presentation of the first Gala Dinner with auction to be held in Tajikistan with participation of journalists, media representatives and bloggers.

The Gala Dinner event is a part of UNICEF’s global tradition to bring businesses, diplomatic communities, celebrities, and artists together to raise awareness about and mobilize funds for various causes in support of creating a better future for children.

Tajikistan’s first gala dinner aims to support Early Childhood Intervention services for at least 1000 children and strengthen future partnerships to scale-up ECI centers across the country.

Speaking at the event, UNICEF Tajikistan Representative, Arthur van Diesen highlighted that “Every child is precious, beautiful and delicate, much like the silk that is made and transported through these ancient lands. They deserve our promise that we will do everything in our power to ensure a life in which each of them can develop to their full potential.”

Media representatives and influencers had an opportunity to learn more about the vision, the program, and expected impact of the fundraising on creating systems that support children, particularly those that are most vulnerable.
