Highlights

This report reviews Sierra Leone’s national progress against the benchmarks of the Safe to Learn Call to Action from 2019 to 2023. Developed through a desk review of national policies, plans, and partner programme documents, the assessment was conducted by the Government of Sierra Leone in coordination with UNICEF.

The findings highlight advances in laws, policies, and systems to prevent and respond to violence in and around schools, while identifying areas where further action is needed. The assessment serves as a practical tool for government, partners, and stakeholders to strengthen efforts to create safe, inclusive, and enabling learning environments for all children.
