Point of YOU workshop was a success

Belgrade, 30 March 2019 - A hundred young people between 15 and 24 years old took part in a mobile journalism workshop "Point of YOU" organised by UNICEF. The workshop was hosted by young journalist and activist Yusuf Omar, the co-founder of the Hashtag Our Stories Initiative.
The aim is to involve young people in the consultative process for the Voluntary National Review on the Sustainable Development Goals, which will be submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia in 2019.
The consultative process for this report provides a unique opportunity to highlight issues concerning children, adolescents and young people.
It is also an opportunity for young people to express their opinions about topics that are important to them and how they align with the Sustainable Development Goals.
During the workshop, young people learned about innovative reporting methods and how to share their opinions and attitudes using, above all, a mobile phone.
They are now enabled to produce reports on how the Sustainable Development Goals are implemented in their communities, which they will share with their peers, as well as with UNICEF and the Cabinet of the Minister without Portfolio for Demography and Population Policy, which is in charge of consultation process for the Voluntary National Review.
