Luanda, December 2025 – UNICEF Angola and Nelt Group signed a strategic partnership agreement to improve digital skills and employability among young people in Angola. As part of an investment worth USD 110,000, Nelt Group will support the implementation of the third edition of the “Desafio Genial – Digital Generation” program, which UNICEF Angola carries out in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Through this partnership, 1,000 young people will have the opportunity to acquire digital and entrepreneurial skills for the 21st century, supported by mentoring and innovative tools to design solutions based on the needs of their communities.
“The private sector plays an important role in building resilient communities. By investing in education and skills development for children and young people, Nelt not only contributes to their social wellbeing but also ensures its own long-term success in an increasingly competitive and dynamic global economy,” said Kristina Brugiolo, UNICEF Representative in Angola.
In today’s rapidly changing world, the success of children and young people depends on their ability to acquire modern skills and knowledge. As technology drives global progress and shapes the future of work, digital literacy has become essential for advancement in the digital era.
The cooperation between Nelt Group and UNICEF addresses one of the most significant global challenges: youth unemployment and the urgent need for educational systems to effectively integrate technology. Relying on the expertise of both organizations, this partnership aims to create a brighter future for coming generations.
“After the successful implementation of Nelt Group’s initiatives in three markets through our global partnership with UNICEF, we are proud to expand our activities to Angola. As one of the leading distributors of multinational brands in the region, Nelt actively contributes to the wellbeing of the communities where it operates. This step holds special importance for us. We have been operating in Angola for nearly 15 years and are deeply committed to supporting the communities we serve and creating a positive, lasting impact, especially for young people. They are the future of this great country, and we want to help create meaningful opportunities that encourage their learning, development, and success. As a trusted partner to UNICEF, the Government of Angola, and our many business partners, Nelt will continue to invest, collaborate, and inspire others to join us in improving the lives of children and young people,” said Boris Mačak, Vice President for African Markets at Nelt.
Through this initiative, Angola becomes the fourth country benefiting from this strategic partnership between Nelt and UNICEF, focused on empowering children and young people through the development of skills for their future. The other three countries are Serbia, North Macedonia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The partnership’s goal is to ensure equitable access to quality education and competency development that will offer better opportunities for children and youth.
