President of the Assembly of AP Vojvodina, Istvan Pastor, has talked today with UNICEF Representative in Serbia, Regina De Dominicis, about the models and possibilities for enhancing cooperation and future joint activities.
Mr Pastor informed UNICEF Representative about the most important programs implemented by the Provincial Government and the Assembly regarding the improvement the rights and position of children and youth in Vojvodina, and especially those related to socially and medically endangered groups.
He stressed the importance of the programs related to inclusion in education, fostering, early detection of illness in children.
UNICEF Representative Regina De Dominicis commended these programs and said that UNICEF would continue and widen the scope of its activities in Vojvodina.
She informed Mr Pastor about the initiative related to commemorating the 30th Anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The meeting discussed the possibilities of cooperation in marking this important event, as well as the possibilities of informing the relevant [Vojvodine] Parliamentary Committees and interested MPs about the programs and activities that UNICEF is implementing in our country.
