Geneva/Belgrade, 20 November 2025 – UNICEF is concerned by reports of children being injured in public events in Serbia. Any situation in which children are exposed to violence or harm is unacceptable.
All children have the right to protection from all forms of violence under the Convention on the Rights of the Child. UNICEF urges all actors to take every measure to ensure children’s safety, including during demonstrations or other public gatherings. Children should never be placed at risk of injury, intimidation or mistreatment.
