Highlights

In a world that is changing quickly due to technological advances, child protection is more important than ever. The rapid expansion of Internet access and digital technologies has exposed children to new risks in online environments, including cyber-bullying, online grooming, sexual extortion, exposure to harmful content, and the non-consensual sharing of images, among others. Social media, messaging apps, gaming platforms and other digital tools have created unprecedented opportunities for perpetrators to harm children, often exploiting gaps in the design and functioning of digital services and the difficulty of parental and institutional oversight.
