To mark 55 years of partnership in the Sultanate, UNICEF Oman participated for the first time in the Muscat Marathon, hosting a two-day family-focused activation at the Race Village.

Throughout the weekend, the UNICEF booth welcomed and engaged hundreds of families, children, and runners. The team shared information about UNICEF’s work in Oman and globally, highlighting efforts to advance child health, protection, education, and inclusion. The event provided an opportunity to connect directly with the community, answer questions, and raise awareness about the importance of investing in every child’s future.

On the second day of the Marathon, UNICEF supported the participation of 10 children with disabilities, nominated by the Special Olympics Oman. Their involvement reflected the shared commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities for all children, particularly in spaces that promote community engagement and healthy lifestyles.

Across both days, UNICEF also emphasized key messages around healthy living and the importance of giving children the best possible start in life. The Marathon’s focus on physical activity and community wellbeing closely aligns with UNICEF’s mission to support environments where children can grow up safe, healthy, and able to reach their full potential.

The weekend was an opportunity to celebrate community spirit, inclusion, and 55 years of partnership dedicated to advancing the rights and wellbeing of every child in Oman.
