UNICEF's work in Oman
UNICEF–Oman Country Programme 2026–2030
Over recent decades, the Sultanate of Oman has made significant gains in child well‑being, with near‑universal access to education, health care and essential services. In alignment with Vision 2040, the Government of Oman and UNICEF are implementing a country programme to further improve education quality, support youth transition to employment, strengthen child protection and social inclusion, promote better nutrition practices, and expand early childhood and disability services.
"Our Vision is to empower all children and adolescents in Oman to realize their rights, thrive, and contribute to national development"
The country programme targets two critical developmental stages—early childhood and adolescence—supported by cross‑cutting lifecycle interventions.
- Expand access to quality early learning, health, nutrition and care services.
- Equip parents and caregivers with practical knowledge and tools to support child development.
- Build future‑ready skills, including digital literacy and green‑economy knowledge.
- Promote youth engagement in climate action, innovation and community projects.
- Protect and promote adolescent health, mental well‑being and healthy nutrition.
- Strengthen child‑sensitive, shock‑responsive social protection systems.
- Improve accessibility of services for children with disabilities and link them to financial support.
- Reinforce integrated child protection through digitalization, workforce development and programmes to prevent and respond to violence, abuse and neglect.
