UNICEF Oman
2021 marked the 50th anniversary of UNICEF’s work in Oman. UNICEF started operating in Oman in 1971 focusing on survival, development and human rights indicators. By 1999, Oman’s impressive developments required formation of a new type of partnership between UNICEF and the Government around policy development, knowledge sharing, and access to global best practices in implementation of Oman’s international commitments on the rights of children and women in line with the Convention on the Rights of the Child as well as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
