Highlights

Neonatal deaths are one of the major contributors to Under-5 mortality in Namibia having contributed 36.4% of the Under-5 mortality in 2013. It is therefore important that reduction in the Neonatal Mortality Rates is accelerated so as to further reduce under-5 deaths in Namibia.

The Namibian Newborn Action Plan has been developed in response to the Global Every Newborn Action Plan (ENAP) and outlines a targeted strategy for accelerating the reduction of preventable newborn deaths and stillbirths in the country.
