In a groundbreaking partnership aimed at ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children in the digital environment, TESO Group and UNICEF Mongolia have officially signed an agreement to implement the “Protect Your Children Online” project. This initiative, supported in collaboration with the Communications Regulatory Commission and general education schools nationwide, will roll out from June to December 2025 with a total investment of MNT 350 million provided by TESO Group.

With internet and social media becoming a daily part of life for over 90% of children and adolescents in Mongolia, this project addresses growing concerns about children's vulnerability to cyber risks. Research shows a stark contrast between parental perceptions and children's realities—while 91% of parents believe their children have never faced cyber threats, 87% of children report experiencing some form of online abuse. Alarmingly, most children do not inform their parents or guardians when such incidents occur.

The project will deliver targeted video-based educational content tailored to different age groups, parents, caregivers, and educators. These modules, informed by international experience from UNICEF and insights from Mongolian teachers and social workers, will be implemented in all 887 schools across the country. The video lessons will be mandatory for all students and will also be used to train school staff and families.

TESO Group chose to collaborate with UNICEF due to its extensive experience and leadership in child protection globally, particularly in digital safety. This project marks a significant step forward in mobilizing the private sector to take action for children’s rights and safety in Mongolia.

“UNICEF believes that protecting children is a responsibility shared across all sectors of society. When private companies like TESO Group step forward to invest in children’s wellbeing through meaningful corporate social responsibility initiatives, it sends a powerful message—that safeguarding children’s rights, especially in the digital world, is not just a public duty but a moral and strategic priority for business as well. This partnership sets an inspiring example of how the private sector can drive lasting impact for future generations” says Mr Evariste Kouassi-Komlan, UNICEF Mongolia Representative.
