Schools mark the Inclusion Month through activities promoting children’s rights

Throughout November, as part of the Inclusion Month, the World Children’s Day, and the national campaign “Learning Together”, general education institutions across the country are encouraged to organize activities that promote inclusion, respect, empathy, and tolerance among students. These may include thematic lessons on children’s rights, discussions with specialists, and artistic activities. Preschools are encouraged to hold play-based learning activities that foster acceptance, empathy, and collaboration among young children, such as reading hours, role-playing, and other creative sessions.

The Ministry of Education and Research and the Republican Centre for Psycho-Pedagogical Assistance will organize round tables on topics such as child safety in schools, parental education, assistive technologies, diversity, and support for students with special educational needs.

As part of the Inclusion Month, students from all over the country are invited to participate in the national contest “My school is inclusive. What about yours?” between 3-15 November. Participants will create drawings and educational leaflets illustrating an inclusive school where every child is accepted and supported, and where teachers and parents contribute to building a friendly and welcoming school environment for all. The contest is organized by the Ministry of Education and Research, UNICEF Moldova, the Republican Centre for Psycho-Pedagogical Assistance, the Republican Centre for Children and Youth ARTICO, and CCF Moldova, with the financial support of the Government of the United Kingdom.

At the end of the month, the national conference “Inclusion, Equity and Protection in Education” will bring together representatives of central and local authorities, international partners, civil society, the education community, students, and parents to advance joint efforts toward a more inclusive and equitable education system, aligned with European standards.

The Ministry of Education and Research, in partnership with the Republican Centre for Psycho-Pedagogical Assistance and UNICEF Moldova, launched the communication campaign for behavioral and social change on educational inclusion of children with disabilities “Learning Together”. The campaign’s interventions also support the implementation of the National Programme for Promoting Inclusive Education 2024–2027.
