Working in the social field is a vocation and a commitment to others.
The diversification of professions in the field of social work is now clearly present, as demonstrated by four women social workers whose careers are inspiring.
Hary Ny Ony Dimbisoa: social worker, specialized in child protection
Hary Ny Ony Dimbisoa likes to help others. She works as a social worker at the emergency reception centre of the urban commune of Antananarivo, as head of the children’s division of the social protection department.
Her daily work is varied and demanding. She welcomes and accompanies children placed at the emergency centre, while providing psychosocial, medical and legal support. In addition, she manages individual cases, maintains the centre’s databases, develops partnerships with other social actors, and develops essential work tools. Her role goes beyond operational management; she also coaches those dealing with cases and represents her institution in meetings, seminars and workshops.
Her commitment to her work is enhanced by the opportunity to practice a profession she has chosen and in which she has invested herself. Her background is a true example of leadership in social work, where she uses her skills to improve the lives of children in vulnerable situations and to promote human rights in her community.
Razafinatolojanahary Mirana Tsylavina: specialized educator
Mirana Tsylavina Razafinatojanahary is a specialized educator who is passionate about her work. She practices as a specialized educator within the urban commune of Antananarivo (CUA). Her commitment focuses on the most disadvantaged, especially children. She continues to specialize in this area, with a focus on street children.
Her responsibilities include the supervision of socio-educational activities of the emergency reception centre and the management of the green line 147. In addition, she leads the section dedicated to street children within the CUA and provides, with various projects and NGOs, crucial support for the setting-up of reception points for these children. She also contributes to the implementation of the work plan and the follow-up plan of the children’s division within the CUA.
Her work also consists in developing inter-party relationships to strengthen partnerships and maximize the impact of her work for a more inclusive and equitable society.
Hefariniaina Marina Rakotonirina: social action engineer
Hefariniaina Marina Rakotonirina, as a social work professional, aims to make a difference in favour of the most vulnerable. With a Master II in social work and a degree in engineering and social actions, she strives to highlight the importance of this field.
As head of social protection department at the directorate of social actions and health (DAAS) within the urban commune of Antananarivo, she is devoted to protecting the vulnerable people in order to offer them better living conditions.
As head of department, she leads, coordinates and implements the social activities of the DASS, thus promoting cohesion and solidarity within her team. In addition, she works closely with other heads of departments to achieve the directorate’s common objectives.
Sabrinah Morea Ndjvee: social worker, specializing in social work and development
Sabrinah Morea Ndjvee specializes in social work and development. She holds a bachelor’s degree in social work and development, with a specialization as a social worker, as well as a Master degree in social policy and development, focusing on educational, cultural and sustainable development policy.
What motivated her to take up this career was the lack of support facilities for people with invisible disabilities such as autism or dyslexia, which deprive them of access to basic social services, including education.
Being in charge of activities within the KOLOAINA Association, Sabrinah uses her skills to design and implement specific activities that meet the needs of families. She provides family support and organizes training sessions for beneficiary mothers, equipping them with the necessary tools to better support their families and fully integrate into society. Sabrinah thus demonstrates her commitment to improving the quality of life of marginalized populations and promoting their social inclusion.
