Fleeing their home: The story of Zeinab and Fatima
Displaced by conflict, Zeinab and Fatima flee their collapsing home in South of Lebanon, enduring a terrifying 12-hour journey to Beirut in search of safety

Zeinab and Fatima were displaced from South of Lebanon due to the escalating conflict. They were at home preparing to go to school for an exam when the sound of shelling started. The houses around them began to collapse and panic took over. "My mother told us to pack our things quickly, and we left in a rush. My siblings were crying. The journey was terrifying" Zeinab said.
The shelling was all around us, and the sound of explosions echoed everywhere. We miss home dearly and yearn to return.

For children across Lebanon, as well as death, injury and displacement, the escalation in hostilities has instilled an unimaginable fear in their daily lives. More than ever before they face the harsh reality of a life filled with uncertainty and violence.
