Transition And Resilience Education Fund
Advancing Ministry of Education and Higher Education's Education Vision 2040: From Partnerships to Impact
Highlights
The Transition and Resilience Education Fund (TREF) was established in June 2022 to respond to multiple crises affecting access to quality and inclusive education for children in Lebanon. Since its establishment in 2022, and under the Ministry of Education and Higher Education’s direction, TREF has supported schools to remain open, sustain access to quality and inclusive education and strengthen the performance of an education system affected by multiple and compounding crises including on data collection and use, and on financial management and reporting at school, regional and central levels.
School Year 2025/2026 has been implemented under the framing of MEHE’s Strategic Vision for Educational Renewal: Transforming the Educational Environment for the Learner (2025–2040), which anchors reform across seven domains: equitable infrastructure, workforce and digitalization; teaching and learning; learner wellbeing; participatory leadership; partnerships with parents, local community and diaspora; and research.
Under the leadership of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the TREF High-Level Strategic Management Board brings together Government of Lebanon, TREF donor partners and UNICEF to: a) reflect on TREF’s contributions to MEHE’s priorities in School Year 2025/2026; b) consider strategic direction of TREF so as to maximize alignment with Ministry of Education and Higher Education’s strategic objectives for School Year 2026/2027 and beyond.
